On Day 4, we planned to explore Old Goa and Panaji.

We started the day with a complimentary breakfast at our resort and spent some relaxing time there before heading out.

On the way to Old Goa, we stopped at Panaji (Panjim), the capital of Goa. We spent some time near a small mangrove bridge, enjoying the calm surroundings and nature.

Panaji is known for its colorful streets and Portuguese-style houses, especially in the Latin Quarter (Fontainhas), which gives a unique European feel.

We roamed around the city and visited a few churches. After that, we had a unique experience—we took our car on a ferry (boat ride) to cross the river towards the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. This sanctuary is located on Chorao Island and is famous for its mangroves and birdlife.

Later, we had lunch at Ritz Classic Restaurant, which is quite popular in Goa for its local food.

After lunch, we checked into our homestay — Casa Camitim, which we had booked via Airbnb. It was a very beautiful and peaceful house, and we really liked the stay.

In the evening, we visited the famous Basilica of Bom Jesus, one of the most important churches in Goa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is known for housing the remains of St. Francis Xavier and is over 400 years old.

After that, we went back towards Panaji and stopped at Kailash Parbat, where we enjoyed some tasty chaat.

We had dinner at a nearby place and then returned to our homestay in Madkai to rest after a culturally rich and relaxing day.
