A Perfect Weekend Getaway to Masinagudi: Wildlife, Safari & Bamboo Banks Stay
🚗 Day 1: Bangalore → Mysore → Masinagudi
Our trip began on July 19th from Bangalore with three families — ours, Asha’s family, and Divya’s family.
We stopped in Mysore for a delicious breakfast — the famous Mylari dosa, which is a must-try if you’re on this route.
On the way to Masinagudi, we passed through:
-
🌻 Beautiful sunflower fields
-
🌳 Bandipur forest — full of wildlife
Bandipur itself felt like a mini safari:
-
Spotted deer, elephants, and peacocks right from the road
We also visited Moyar Dam, a peaceful scenic spot before heading to our stay.
🏡 Stay at Bamboo Banks
We stayed at Bamboo Banks Homestay, and it was honestly the highlight of the trip.
What made it special:
-
🦌 Deer freely roaming inside the property
-
🐎 Horses on-site
-
🌳 Huge natural space with tree houses and viewpoints
-
🚙 Jeep ride inside the property
The package included lunch, and the food was simple and tasty.
Evening activities:
-
Kids enjoyed swimming
-
Explored the tree house
-
Took a jeep ride inside the property
-
Relaxed with nature views
We had dinner early and slept soon — because safari meant an early start.
🐾 Day 2: Safari Experience (Mudumalai)
We started at 6 AM, and even before reaching the safari, we saw:
-
🦌 More than 100 deer
-
🦬 Bisons
At Mudumalai Safari, we experienced:
-
Elephants up close
-
Large herds of deer
-
Tiger paw marks
-
A rare moment — spotting a cheetah hunting
We then visited:
-
🐘 Theppakadu Elephant Camp
After returning:
-
Enjoyed horse riding
-
Had breakfast
-
Checked out and left for Ooty
⭐ Final Thoughts
Masinagudi is perfect if you want:
-
Nature + wildlife
-
Peaceful stay
-
Kid-friendly outdoor activities
Bamboo Banks is highly recommended, especially if you're traveling with family.
