On Day 2, we planned to visit the famous Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. It is located inside a forest and is known for its milky white water flowing down the rocks, which is why it is called “Dudhsagar” (meaning Sea of Milk).
To reach the waterfalls, we had to book a jeep ride. There was a huge queue for booking, and one rule was that each jeep should have 7 people. Since we were 5, an unknown couple joined us to complete the group.
The jeep ride was around 40 minutes one way and was very bumpy and adventurous, going through rough roads, water streams, and forest paths. It felt like a mini off-road adventure!
After reaching the drop point, we walked for about 10 minutes to reach the waterfalls. The place was very crowded, but the view of the waterfall was amazing. We even got a chance to go into the water and enjoy swimming near the falls.
By noon, we returned back and had lunch at the same place where we had booked the jeep.
After lunch, we visited the Tambdi Surla (Kadamba Shri Mahadeva Temple). This temple is very old and was built in the 12th century by the Kadamba dynasty. It is made completely of black stone and is located inside a forest, making it very peaceful and unique. It is also one of the oldest temples in Goa and has beautiful carvings on the stone.
In the evening, we went for dinner at The Fisherman’s Wharf, a popular restaurant in Goa known for its seafood and riverside ambiance. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.
After dinner, we returned to our homestay at Patnem Beach and rested after a long and exciting day.
