Gahan’s Experience
Gahan went on the Sri Shiva Nanjundeshwara Temple trek with his parents, his uncle who had come from Singapore, and a neighbour’s family. Since they were not regular trekkers at that time, they planned a short and simple trek that everyone could enjoy together. Another boy from the same community, Guhan, joined with his parents, which made the trek more fun for the kids.
About the Trek
The trek to Sri Shiva Nanjundeshwara Temple is around 3–4 km in total and takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. The trail includes rocky sections and a steep rock climb near the temple, but there are railings installed to support trekkers while climbing. Because of this, the climb is manageable even for beginners and families.
Highlights and Facts
This trek was special because it was done after a long gap from trekking. The hill offers peaceful surroundings and scenic views of the nearby countryside. Although the rock climb is a little steep, the railing support makes the climb safe and enjoyable. The temple at the top makes the trek both a nature experience and a spiritual visit, which many local families enjoy.
